Grier Edmundson’s poignant and evocative oil paintings examine society through the reconstruction of appropriated images, subtly teasing out new questions and perceptions of old ideas and classic problems inherent in our own human centeredness. His work has been included in select exhibitions including the 2011 Quebec Triennial, Musee D’Art Contemporarian De Montreal; at de Appel Arts Centre, Amsterdam; Galerie Art Concept, Paris; A.Vermin, Glasgow; The Glasgow International 2008, Glasgow; Artnewprojects, Berlin; Groeflin Maag Gallery, Basel; and The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Memphis. Edmundson has held solo exhibitions with Fourteen30 Contemporary, Portland; Battat Contemporary, Montreal; Washington Garcia, Glasgow and Power House, Memphis. Edmundson currently lives and works in Montreal.
